Tallinn Kalev RFC ei osallistu sarjaan kaudella 2021

Suomen rugbyliiton päätöksestä Tallinnan rugbyjoukkue Kalev RFC ei osallistu vuoden 2021 Suomen mestaruussarjaan. Rajanylitykseen liittyvät nykyiset rajoitukset tekevät kilpailun järjestämisen käytännössä mahdottomaksi amatööriurheilujoukkueille, eikä rajoituksiin ole näkyvissä helpotuksia Suomen sekä Viron huonontuneiden koronatilanteiden vuoksi. Päätöksen myötä mestaruussarja kapenee yhdellä joukkueella ja loput pelit pelataan normaalisti. Kalev RFC säilyttää mestaruussarjapaikkansa vuodelle 2022 ja SM-sarjan viimeinen joukkue pelaa karsintaottelun I-divisioonan voittajaa vastaan.
The Tallin based Kalev RFC will not participate in the 2021 Finnish Championship by the decision of the Finnish Rugby Federation. The current limitations to travelling make it impossible for the amateur sport competition to take place. It is also not likely for the restrictions to get any lighter as both Finland and Estonia have seen a worsening of Corona infections. Through this decision the Championship will be reduced to six teams, and the rest of the fixtures will go through normally. Kalev RFC will keep their spot in the Championship for the season of 2022 and the team positioned last will play in the promotion/relegation match against the winner of Division 1.
